Having members from different corners of the world including Colombia, England, Italy and Belarus is a testament to the wide vision of Opensight. A band that draws influences from across musical genres, creating an adventurous and neurotic blend of rock, metal, spy themes, quirky jazzy passages and powerful orchestrations. The music is driven by a sense of adventure and excitement due to the band's love for genre movies and film scores, yet is still delivered within the high energy format of the heavy metal and rock giants that inspired the band members during their formative years.
Originally starting the band in Colombia, Ivan (guitars/vocals) moved to the rich and dynamic atmosphere of London to progress his vision of Opensight. Joining with Genia (guitars), Danni (bass) and finally Redd (drums), the combined styles formed the sound of the present day Opensight which is effectively portrayed on their latest record "Ulterior Motives". Produced by Will Maya (The Answer, Breed 77, The Heretic Order, Panic Cell, The Morage, Adrian Smith) and recorded at Paddock Studios (London) and Los Rosales Studios (London/Madrid) "Ulterior Motives" is a record that has led Opensight to be described as "Quirky and jazzy" (Rolling Stone) "Unique and delightful" (BloodyDisgusting.com) "Intimate, expansively suggestive and bordering psychotic" (The Ringmaster).
Opensight's live show goes with the band's music, providing a more cinematic experience with synched visuals and clever cultural references. The show is evidence of the excitement that the members of the band feel towards the music they play, embracing the energetic approach of rock and metal but without taking themselves too seriously. The band have enjoyed playing many shows including established events such as Metal 2 The Masses, The Facemelter, Pure Rock Fest, Red Roar Festival and have shared the stage with other cool acts including Beholder, Sumer, Morass of Molasses, Goldray, Bearfist, Jackknife Seizure, Ben Christo (Sisters of Mercy) and more.
